Cabochon Amber Necklace

Collar of 62 cm made up of resin of Amber reconstituted out of Cabochons.
Amber is the fossilized resin of the pines (pinus will succinifera) which existed 50 million years ago, during the Eocene (beginning of the tertiary era).
Largest Amber dépot of the world is located in Samland (old Prussia Orientale).
Hardness on the MOHS scale of hardness: 2-2.5. Density: 1.05-1.09.
