Ambre is the fossilized resin of the pines (pinus will succinifera) which éxistait 50 million years ago, during the Eocene (beginning of the tertiary era).
Largest Amber dépot of the world is located in Samland (old Prussia Orientale).
Hardness on the MOHS scale of hardness: 2-2.5. Density: 1.05-1.09.
